CSPE Terms, Policies & Refund Conditions

The Centre for Supportive Palliative Education (CSPE) provides non-medical, community-based education and professional development. By enrolling in any CSPE program, bundle, track, or pathway, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. Nature of Training (Non-Medical Education)

CSPE programs do not provide medical, clinical, or regulated health-care qualifications.
Our training prepares students for supportive, companioning, and community-based roles within palliative care and grief support.
Graduates are not licensed or authorized to perform clinical tasks or regulated health services.

2. Enrollment & Payment Requirements

Enrollment is considered complete only when:

  • full payment is made or

  • the first installment of a payment plan is completed.

Students who select payment plans are entering into a tuition agreement and are responsible for completing all remaining payments, regardless of attendance or participation.

3. Refund Policy

CSPE offers a fair and respectful refund structure.

Refunds Before Course Start

Refund requests received before the course start date will be processed minus a $75 administrative fee.

No Refunds After Course Start

Once the course has begun — regardless of attendance, participation, or unforeseen circumstances — no refunds will be issued.

This applies to all programs, tiers, tracks, bundles, and payment types.

4. Payment Plans

Payment plans are a commitment to the full tuition amount.

Once the course begins:

  • all remaining payments must be completed

  • withdrawal does not cancel payment obligations

  • missed payments may result in removal from the program

  • certificates cannot be issued unless the full tuition has been paid

5. Program Transfers & Deferrals

Transfer or deferral requests will be considered only before the course start date, and only if space permits.

  • Transfers or deferrals are not guaranteed.

  • After the start date, transfers and deferrals are not available.

6. Application, Interview & Acceptance (Tier 1, Tier 2, Track 2)

Some CSPE programs require an application and interview.

Application does not guarantee acceptance.

Enrollment into programs requiring screening is contingent on:

  • application review

  • interview

  • formal acceptance

If a student is not accepted, any payment made will be refunded in full.

7. Attendance & Participation Requirements

CSPE programs include live sessions, reflection assignments, practice exercises, and (where applicable) practicum supervision.

To qualify for certificates, students must:

  • attend required live classes

  • participate meaningfully

  • complete assignments and practicums

  • adhere to timelines and expectations

Failure to meet requirements may result in ineligibility for certification.

No refunds will be issued for incomplete participation.

8. Certificate Eligibility

Certificates are awarded based on:

  • attendance

  • participation

  • assignment completion

  • practicum completion (if applicable)

  • full tuition payment

Partial participation does not qualify for certification.

9. Professional Conduct

Students must maintain respectful, ethical, and professional behaviour.

CSPE reserves the right to withdraw a student from a program without refund if their behaviour:

  • disrupts the learning environment

  • violates ethical standards

  • endangers psychological safety or group cohesion

10. Use of Program Materials (Copyright)

All program materials — including PDFs, videos, slides, handouts, worksheets, and written curriculum — are the intellectual property of CSPE.

Students may not:

  • copy

  • share

  • reproduce

  • distribute

  • teach

  • license

  • upload

  • or publicly present

any CSPE material without explicit, written authorization.

11. Communication & Contact

By enrolling, you consent to receiving:

  • program communications

  • reminders

  • scheduling updates

  • certificates

  • instructional emails

These are essential to course participation.

12. Acceptance of Terms

By completing enrollment — whether via full tuition or payment plan — you acknowledge, understand, and agree to abide by all CSPE Terms, Policies, and Refund Conditions.
