One hour to explore an end-of-life topic/question that matters
Â
Some of the most important questions about grief, caregiving, dying and death are also the questions people have the fewest places to ask.
The CSPE Wednesday Webinars offer a free and accessible place to begin.
Each live online session explores one question drawn from the experiences people commonly encounter around serious illness, end-of-life care, loss and family life.

What If Part of Me Just Wants This to Be Over?
Caregiving and anticipatory grief can bring exhaustion, love, worry, resentment, tenderness and the wish for an unbearable situation to end.
This webinar explores what may be underneath the thought, “I just want this to be over,” and why having that thought does not define the depth of someone’s love or care.
We will consider caregiver exhaustion, emotional capacity, anticipatory grief and the relief that can accompany an ending after a long period of suffering or uncertainty.

They’ve Stopped Eating. Now What?
Changes in eating and drinking can be among the most distressing experiences for families when someone is seriously ill or approaching death.
Food represents care, nourishment, relationship, culture and hope. When a person begins eating less, families may feel frightened, helpless or unsure about how to respond.
This webinar offers an introductory understanding of why eating may change near the end of life, the emotional meaning families attach to food and questions to bring to the healthcare team.

Do I Have to Be There When They Die?
People often carry strong expectations about being present at the exact moment someone dies.
Some desperately hope to be there. Others feel frightened or uncertain. A person may leave the room briefly and return to discover that the death occurred while they were gone.
This webinar explores presence, absence, timing, guilt and the many ways people accompany someone near the end of life.
Being present across a relationship can hold meaning far beyond one final moment.

Do I Have to Forgive Someone Because They’re Dying?
Approaching death can bring pressure to reconcile, forgive, visit or set aside the history of a difficult relationship.
This webinar explores what forgiveness can mean, how it differs from reconciliation and why care, dignity and personal boundaries can coexist.
Participants will be invited to consider how an honest response may take shape without requiring a particular emotional outcome.

Wednesday Webinars are a place to listen, reflect, and enter conversations that can be difficult to find elsewhere.
Choose the conversation that speaks to you. We would be glad to have you with us.
