Pathways Overview
Choose the pathway that aligns with your calling...
At the Centre for Specialized Palliative Education, we offer two professional training streams designed for people who want to support others through illness, aging, dying, and grief with compassion and steadiness.
Palliative Care Practitioner Pathway
For those called to companion individuals and families through illness, decline, and end-of-life experiences in a non-medical, relational, community-based role.
Grief Literacy & Educator Pathway
For those seeking deeper grief literacy, personal integration, or the skills to teach grief education in non-clinical settings.
Your Weekly Rhythm
To make planning easy, all CSPE programs meet at the same time each week:
Tracks (Grief Education): Wednesday at 7pm MST Replays Available
Tiers (Palliative Foundations & Advanced Training): Tuesdays 10 am OR 7 pm MST
- Track 1 and Tier 1 are each 6 weeks, followed by Track 2 and Tier 2 for 6 weeks.
- Tier 2 will be followed by a practicum.
How Registration Works
- Each course is registered for individually
- You begin with either Tier 1 or Track 1
- Around Week 4, registration opens for the next level
- This allows you to experience the course before deciding to continue
- Payment is made at each stage, rather than all upfront
Pathways Difference
Palliative Pathway (Tier 1 & 2)
Focus: Supporting individuals and families through illness, aging, and end-of-life care
Grief Integration Pathway (Track 1 & 2)
Focus: Understanding grief and facilitating grief education in non-clinical settings
Pursuing Both Pathways?
Some learners choose to complete both the Palliative Care Practitioner Pathway and the Grief Integration Series as part of a broader professional formation.
